Schedule: Full-time– Mon- Fri 9a-5pm
Salary: $18/hr.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Day Program for individuals with developmental disabilities (DDD). The CNA will provide essential daily care and support to individuals participating in the program, assisting with their healthcare needs, personal care, and overall well-being. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and comfort of all participants in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care Assistance: Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
- Health Monitoring: Assist in monitoring participant health and well-being by taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration rate), documenting changes, and reporting concerns to supervisors or healthcare professionals.
- Medication Support: Administer or assist with the administration of prescribed medications and document as required, following all healthcare guidelines.
- Support Individualized Plans: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans and personal goals for participants, ensuring they receive proper care and attention.
- Emotional and Social Support: Offer companionship and provide emotional support to participants, engaging in activities that promote social interaction, communication, and community involvement.
- Behavior Management: Support individuals in managing behaviors and needs as outlined in their behavior intervention plans, using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques as appropriate.
- Recordkeeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided, including health monitoring, personal care assistance, and participant progress.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure the safety of participants by adhering to all safety protocols, infection control practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with the Day Program team, including therapists, social workers, and family members, to ensure a holistic approach to care and program goals.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in AZ.
- Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare or social services setting, particularly working with individuals with developmental disabilities, is preferred.
- Knowledge: Understanding of developmental disabilities, behavioral health, and personal care needs.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with participants, families, and team members.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to assist with mobility and transfer needs of participants. Must be able to lift, bend, and perform other physical tasks as required.
- Clearances: Must pass criminal background check, Fingerprint clearance card, and other required clearances.
