Job Overview
The Bus Aide plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our members during transportation from Group home to Day Program. This position requires a compassionate individual who can effectively communicate with our members and manage any behavior, and assist in creating a positive environment on the bus. The Bus Aide will work with special needs adults and children , to provide support and guidance throughout their journey.

Shifts

Either

  • Full time Split shift Mon- Fri 6a-10a and 2p-6pm( there is a 4 hour break) OR
  • Part time Mon- Fri 6a-10a or 2p-6pm

Requirements

  • Must have a valid AZ Fingerprint clearance card

Duties

  • Assist members in boarding and disembarking the bus safely.
  • Monitor behavior during transit to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
  • Communicate effectively with Director, and managers, regarding any concerns or incidents.
  • Provide first aid assistance when necessary and ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Educate Memebers on bus safety rules and expectations.
  • Collaborate with the bus driver to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise during the route.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bus environment.

Requirements

  • Experience working with people with disabilities a plus or children in an educational or special needs setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with our members.
  • Ability to manage conflicts and maintain a positive atmosphere on the bus.
  • First aid , article 9, prevention and support certification is desirable but not mandatory during hire ; training will be provided within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience in behavior management techniques is beneficial.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
